495th R/C Squadron, Inc. - Groton Fun Fly

4th Annual Groton Fun Fly - October 11, 2008
10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

On Saturday Oct. 11th, 2008, the 495th R/C Squadron, Inc. will host a Fun Fly at the Groton Flying Field in Groton, MA. This fun fly is open to all current Club members, and promises to be a fun-filled and exciting time for all! The fun fly will be held from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM. In the event of rain on Oct. 11th, the rain date for the fun fly is Saturday Oct. 18th, 2008. The date for the Groton fun fly is coming up fast, so please be sure to put this on your calendar now!!

Merchandise Prizes!!!

We will be awarding prizes to the top three finishers (cumulative) of the three flying events. The prizes will consist of gift certificates to Hobby Fever of Billerica, MA. Thank You Hobby Fever!!

In addition to the flying activities, we will be hosting a FREE barbeque lunch for all club members!! Why not come out and join us for some exciting R/C modeling, and a delicious lunch!

1 Minute Flight 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM
"Open" Flying 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM

Touch-n-Go's - How many Touch-n-Go's can you do in one minute? Only one Touch-n-Go per pass down the runway! Highest number wins.

Mail Run - Start with plane in the middle of the runway, and the pilot at a pilot station. Start time, and either go to the plane, or taxi the plane to the pilot. Attach a business card to the airplane. Take-off and fly five passes left-to-right down the runway. Land and remove the card. Time stops when the card is in-hand. Shortest time wins.

Lunch - A lunch consisting of grilled hot dogs, chips, soda and cookies will be provided free-of-charge to all club members and helpers.

1 Minute Flight - Time begins at liftoff. Pilot flies for one minute and lands. Each second before or after one minute is the raw score. Final score is determined by multiplying the raw score by the roll of the dice. Shortest time wins.
