Poker Fun Fly 2008 Wrapup

On Sunday March 30, 2008, the 495th R/C Squadron, Inc. held a Poker Fun Fly at the John A. Ogonowski Model Flying Field (Pinnacle Street) in Tewksbury, MA. The fun fly was open to all current club members, and was an exciting, fun-filled event! Beginning at 11:30 AM for a Chinese food lunch and running until about 3:00 PM, the Loops, One Minute Flight, and Spot Landing events were enjoyed by all!! We were fortunate to have an extremely mild, sunny day with temperatures approaching  50 degrees. 

In each event, a participant was awarded a number of playing cards proportional to their overall time/score. At the end of the three events, the individuals with the best three poker hands were awarded prizes!! In this way, prizes were awarded based on both skill and luck!!

The top three poker hands were Billy Lentine (left), Tony Covino Sr. (middle), and Matt Clina (right). This year, our prizes were provided by the fine people at Hobby Fever in Billerica, MA - thanks Hobby Fever!!

Lunch - A total of 20 Chinese lunch combo-boxes were served to all event participants. We decided to try something a little bit different, and this idea was extremely well received by all the participants!! All food was purchased by Tony  DiFinizio - thanks Tony!!
