Winter Fun Fly - February 10, 2007

On Feb. 10, 2007, the 495th R/C Squadron, Inc. will host a Winter Fun Fly at the John A. Ogonowski Model Flying Field (Pinnacle Street) in Tewksbury, MA. This fun fly is open to all current Club members, and promises to be one of the highlights of the early 2007 flying season! The fun fly will be held from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. In the event of inclement weather on Feb. 10th, the rain/snow date for the Winter Fun Fly is Feb. 11th, 2007. The date for the Winter Fun Fly is coming up fast, so please be sure to put this on your calendar now!!

Schedule of Events

Timed Loops - Time starts one minute after takeoff and continues for one minute thereafter. Ten (10) points per loop. Total loop score is determined by multiplying the loop points by wingspan of the model divided by 10. Landing on the runway gives an additional 50 points.  

Slow Pass - Time to fly length of runway. After takeoff the pilot has up to one minute to indicate when the pass will start while approaching the start of the runway. The time is measured to fly the full length of the runway. If the plane stops (hover) or goes backwards then a zero (0) is scored. Landing on the runway gives an additional 50 points.

Lunch - A lunch consisting of boiled hot dogs, chips, soda and cookies will be provided free-of-charge to all contest participants and helpers. Lunch will also be available to all spectators and non-participants for a nominal charge of $5.00.

Time Trial - Take off and fly to the end of the runway. The next time the middle of the runway is passed the first lap starts. Any corners cut will nullify the current lap and another must be flown. After five (5) laps the timing stops. Time is subtracted from 700 to get the score. No negative scores will be awarded. Landing on the runway gives an additional 50 points.
